Shaping the Future of Dispute Resolution in Asia

Who We Are

Pakistan International Disputes Weekend (PIDW) is Asia's premier dispute resolution conference, established as a flagship event for the region's legal, business, investment, and policy communities. Launched in 2022, PIDW was conceived to meet a growing demand for a dedicated regional platform that fosters knowledge sharing, high-level networking, and stronger international-local business connectivity.

We are more than just a conference; we are a global hub for dialogue and a bridge that connects international practitioners with regional markets and opportunities.

Our Vision and Mission

PIDW was founded by our Chair, Mian Sheraz Javaid, who envisioned a forum more inclusive than traditional arbitration weeks—one that reflects the region's evolving legal landscape.

Where litigation was long dominant, we are now actively embracing the full spectrum of alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration, mediation, dispute boards, and adjudication.

Our Mission is to serve as a platform for:

  • Knowledge and Learning: Structured discussions & workshops with global practitioners.
  • Regional Thought Leadership: Dialogue among judges, policymakers, and practitioners to drive reform.
  • Networking and Business Matchmaking: Opportunities to connect, collaborate, and explore dispute appointments.

Our Impact

In just three editions, PIDW has become a national symbol and has had a direct influence on legal reform in Pakistan.

Arbitration Act 2023

Amending the pre-colonial Arbitration Act of 1940.

Singapore Convention

Pakistan's ratification of the Singapore Convention on Mediation.

ADR Recognition

Judicial shift towards embracing Alternative Dispute Resolution.

The Future is Regional

Today, PIDW has grown beyond its national roots. We are opening our doors to the wider region, welcoming law firms, ADR Centres, and practitioners from across Asia and beyond.

Together, we aim to build a truly regional platform that is diverse in its voices but united in its purpose: to shape the future of dispute resolution in this part of the world.
